For some of the most superb close up views of Sydney Harbour, the Bridge, Opera House and Circular Quay, The Waterfront Restaurant is the place! Situated right on the foreshore of Circular Quay in one of the the oldest areas of Sydney called ‘The Rocks’, it’s basically right under the Harbour Bridge looking over towards Milsons Point. Definitely go for a table outside in the covered area under the ‘masts and top sails’. If it’s completely full there, try for a window table inside. If you can’t get either of those, come another time because where you sit is intergral to the experience. No point sitting inside and up the back of a harbour front restaurant where you can’t take in the view. Top dish is the hot and cold seafood platter, which is enormous and absolutely fit for sharing! Complete with Balmain Bugs (a local shellfish kind of like a lobster but more ‘aussie’ and no claws) you’ll love the selection delivered on the giant plate which needs it’s own stand to fit on the table!!
